    Fuel prices have increased to GH₵14.49 for petrol and GH₵14.90 for diesel

    On October 16, 2024, Allied Oil set the price for a litre of petrol at GH₵12.73 and diesel at GH₵13.73. This reflects a slight increase above the pricing quoted on October 1, 2024.

    Shell has raised petrol prices to GH₵14.72 per liter, a 7% increase from the initial pricing window in October 2024.

    Diesel prices increased by 4.45% to GH₵14.99 pesewas per litre.

    On Thursday, October 17, 2024, market leader Goil announced a price rise.

    Goil hiked petrol prices by 7.89% to GH₵14.49. Diesel is now priced at GH₵14.90, up over 4% from October 9th.

    Star Oil, the second biggest oil marketing corporation, has hiked its prices, selling a liter of petrol at GH₵13.99, a more than 7% increase from its previous price. Diesel now costs GH₵14.19, up 3.42 percent from the previous price.
    A close examination of the figures revealed that petrol prices rose the most, owing to adjustments made by several of the main oil marketing companies.

    Petrol prices had risen by more than 7%, while diesel had increased by more than 4% per litre.

    Some OMCs have linked the increase to increased international crude oil and finished petroleum product prices. They also identify current issues with the cedi as a major contributing factor.
