Reverend Owusu Bempah, the General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, and two others previously charged with threatening Nana Agradaa with death have been re-arrested.
This came after they were released by the Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday.
State Prosecutors, lead by Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey, petitioned the court to discharge the accused, indicating that additional accusations were in the works.
When the judge accepted their request, they were arrested. Prosecutors expect to submit further accusations before the end of the day.
The prominent pastor and two others, Bright Berchie and Mensah Ofori, were on trial after being arrested for making threats, brandishing weapons, and assaulting police officers.
However, the prosecution in the case has altered the allegations, charging the defendants with offensive conduct contributing to a breach of peace and a death threat.
The public prosecutor must separate the cases to achieve an efficient and timely trial.
The three pled not guilty to the new allegations.
The Accra High Court awarded the clergyman self-recognisance bail of ¢100,000, while the other two were granted bail of ¢100,000 with two sureties apiece.
Rev. Owusu Bempah was given ¢400,000 bail in another case. He, Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum were charged with inflicting hurt and unlawful damage to a police car.
