Ghana coach Otto Addo stated he felt “dead” when his team lost to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
On Tuesday, the Black Stars were defeated 2-0 by the Falcons of Jedaine at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, in a huge blow to their qualification hopes.
The loss, which extends Ghana’s winless streak to four games, places Otto Addo’s team third in Group F with two points.
“To be honest, the last two days [after the Sudan match], I was dead,” Addo remarked in an interview with GFA media.
“But now I’ve had a lot of great feedback and support from family and friends, and now is the moment I need them.
“And this brought me back on track and very important for us to think ahead to try as much as possible to win the last games.”
The Black Stars face Angola and Niger in their final two qualifying matches, with maximum points required to keep their faint chances of qualifying for next year’s continental championships alive.
Angola has already sealed their position with 12 points, while Sudan, presently in second place, simply needs a draw in their final two games to secure their spot.
